WITHOUT A NET
Without access to technology or the internet in schools, millions of students are being denied a future. That's the message behind Without a Net: The Digital Divide in America, a documentary directed by Academy Award® nominee Rory Kennedy and narrated by Academy Award® winner Jamie Foxx. The film premiered on the National Geographic Channel and at the New York Film Festival.
We created a grassroots campaign with the film's producer, Verizon, who has a longstanding commitment to helping close the digital divide by bringing free technology, free access, and hands-on learning to schools in disadvantaged areas across the U.S.
Hollywood Reporter "the inability to use the internet for schoolwork is putting their futures in jeopardy"
The 74 "I think we’re at that point right now where it’s one of the few areas where, well, at least the Democrats and Trump agree, that we need to invest in our infrastructure"
